SMILES TAKE ON DELICIOUS NEW MEANING WITH RETURN OF ANNUAL TIM HORTONS® FUNDRAISER
100 per cent of Tim Hortons Smile Cookie sales in Picton and Wellington support priority medical equipment needs
PICTON – September 10, 2018 – They’re back and tastier than ever! From September 17 – 23, Tim Hortons’ famous Smile Cookies will be available for your eating pleasure! For one week starting Monday, September 17, Tim Hortons guests can purchase a freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie for $1.00 at the Picton and Wellington restaurants, with 100 per cent of the proceeds proudly donated by Tim Hortons restaurant owners, Paul and Valerie Massey to support Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. The fundraiser runs September 17th-23rd, 2018
“The Smile Cookie campaign has continuously been successful year after year thanks to our loyal guests for their kindness and support,” said Paul Massey, Tim Hortons Restaurant Owner in Picton and Wellington. “We are honoured to support the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation for the fifth year in a row with all of the proceeds raised and to share smiles with all of our dedicated guests. Stop by our restaurant next week and purchase your freshly baked Smile Cookie to support a great cause!”
Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation is an independent, registered charity that raises funds to help renovate and maintain our County hospital and to purchase medical equipment such as vital signs monitors, diagnostic tools, scopes and much more.
“We are thrilled to have been selected as the recipients of this worthy program. Since partnering with Tim Hortons, the Smile Cookie program locally has raised in excess of $23,000 for priority medical equipment needs for our County hospital,” said Monica Alyea, chairperson of the PECMH Foundation. “It’s vital for our community to continue to ensure our County hospital is equipped with the latest technology to keep it relevant. The government does not pay for medical equipment. It has always been the responsibility of the community to fund medical equipment needs. We hope our community will see this special fundraising week at Tim Hortons as another sign that we are all committed to building a vibrant future for Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.”
The Smile Cookie campaign started in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario and has grown to become a major fundraising event at Tim Hortons restaurants. With blue eyes and a pink smile, the Smile Cookie has become an iconic symbol of the commitment of Tim Hortons guests and restaurant owners to strengthen their communities. In 2018, more than 530 Charities/Organizations in Communities across Canada will benefit from the Smile Cookie Campaign.
