What’s better than a cookie that tastes good? A cookie that does good! Tim Hortons is bringing more smiles to Prince Edward County residents with the kickoff of the annual Smile Cookie campaign.
For one week starting Monday, September 16, Tim Hortons’ guests can purchase a freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie for $1.00 in Picton and Wellington. 100 per cent of the proceeds proudly will be donated by Tim Hortons restaurant owners, Paul and Valerie Massey to support Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. The fundraiser runs September 16th-22rd, 2019.
“The Smile Cookie campaign has continuously been successful year after year thanks to our loyal guests for their kindness and support,” said Paul Massey, Tim Hortons restaurant owner in Picton and Wellington. “We are honoured to support Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation for the sixth year in a row with all of the proceeds raised and to share smiles with all of our dedicated guests. Stop by our restaurant next week and purchase your freshly baked Smile Cookie to support a great cause!”

“We are thrilled to have been selected as the recipients of this wonderful event. Since partnering with Tim Hortons, the local Smile Cookie program has raised in excess of $29,000 for priority medical equipment needs for our County hospital,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “We hope our community will see this special fundraising week at Tim Hortons as another sign that we are all committed to building a vibrant future for Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.”
The Smile Cookie campaign started in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario and has grown to become a major fundraising event at Tim Hortons restaurants. With blue eyes and a pink smile, the Smile Cookie has become an iconic symbol of the commitment of Tim Hortons’ guests and restaurant owners to strengthen their communities.
“We’re excited to participate in the Smile Cookie campaign again this year. It’s such a pleasure to partner with the Hospital Foundation, a local charity that does such impactful work in Prince Edward County. Our team members craft each Smile Cookie with care and are proud to serve them to guests who come in throughout the week to support such a great cause,” said Massey.
“The real magic behind the Smile Cookie campaign is the local impact and we’re excited to be able to support local charities, hospitals and community programs again this year. Our guests, restaurant owners and their team members can feel incredibly proud knowing that the money raised during the campaign directly supports local Tim Hortons communities,” said Mike Hancock, Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons.
