Executive Director

Shannon is the Executive Director of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. In addition to ensuring the County hospital is equipped with the medical equipment it needs on an annual basis, Shannon is overseeing a $27M fundraising campaign which will result in a new hospital for Prince Edward County.

Before starting her role with PECMHF in 2018, Shannon was the Director of Leadership Philanthropy for the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation and helped the Foundation to secure over $67M toward the Extraordinary People, Innovative Health Care campaign.

Shannon received her Certified Fund Raising Executive designation in 2016, is the Past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Southeastern Ontario, and an active member of the Rotary Club of Picton.

Shannon's career as a fundraiser began in 1986. She has worked on several fundraising campaigns with many organizations throughout her career including the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the Royal Ontario Museum, the University of Toronto’s, School of Medicine, and Queen’s University’s Faculty of Health Sciences.

Shannon is a proud resident of Prince Edward County. When not working, Shannon can be found out on a body of water sailing, spending time with her family or working in the garden.

Senior Development Officer

No stranger to grand entrances, Briar was delivered onto a Picton Gazette newspaper in the backseat of her father’s car while crossing the Belleville Bridge. She grew up exploring the shorelines around Wellington and spent her childhood on West Lake, boating, beaching and pretending to be a mermaid. When confined to land, she was showing horses and writing short stories.

Briar dabbled in a couple of post-secondary courses before graduating from both the print journalism and post graduate public relations program at Loyalist College. Working part-time between the archives and County Weekly News during her last year of college, she learned of an opportunity with the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. She applied for an internship in 2008, was subsequently hired, and has happily made the hospital her daytime hangout ever since.

Administrative Assistant

Jessica graduated from Fleming College, where she studied to be an Earth Resources Technician and then went on to Loyalist College to become a PSW. Jessica has three boys, all under three, is an outdoors enthusiast and even competes in Ironman triathlons!

Jessica is already familiar with Quinte Health as she is, and will continue to be, a part-time clerk on the maternity floor at Quinte Health.

In her own words; “Recently having an opportunity to work with the Hospital foundation has brought me a new sense of happiness and excitement as I begin my new career and journey with an organization full of passion for many great causes within our communities.”

Finance and Prospect Research Coordinator

Born and raised in Prince Edward County, Sue completed a marketing and finance diploma before embarking on a career in both finance and administration.

Employment opportunities took Sue and her husband to western Ontario for some time. There they started their family. A love for the County and a longing to raise their two young children where they grew up brought them home in 2002.

Sue quickly became involved in the community, jumping in with both feet to volunteer with Scouts Canada and the Prince Edward County 4-H youth program.

Sue joined the PECMHF staff team in December 2019. She helps to ensure the day-to-day operations of the foundation run smoothly and she provides support to the board and our various committees. Always here to answer the call, Sue’s friendly voice is often the first point of contact our donors and volunteers have with the foundation.

Sue enjoys spending her free time with her family, working in her garden or out sailing around the Bay of Quinte.
