Beer Store customers in Prince Edward County continue to support our local hospital through donations of bottles and cans at the Picton location.
The Beer Store employees in Picton selected the
Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation to be their charity of choice for bottle returns and customer donations over the month of July. This year, the donations raised $1,461.55.
“This donation is another example of the creative ways our community is making a difference. The staff and customers at the Beer Store have demonstrated their commitment to keeping our hospital well equipped for everyone who lives in or visits our community by making every dollar count,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation.
Each returnable container is worth either $0.10 or $0.20 depending on the size. The Beer Store is thankful to the important charitable organizations, like the PECMH Foundation, who are helping to support health care in the community. One hundred per cent of all donations made in Picton were donated to the foundation.
“We wanted to raise funds that would have an impact on the health of our community, and help support our hospital,” said local Beer Store Manager, Ryan Weirsma. “We would like to thank all of our customers for their dedication to our County hospital and for their generosity.”
Across Ontario, the Beer Store raised $258,843 for charities during the month of July.
