Since its inception in 1908, the Prince Edward District Women’s Institute (PEDWI) has focused its efforts on improving the health and wellness of its neighbourhoods. True to its mission, the Women’s Institute has donated funds raised through its initiatives to local organizations and efforts that benefit many people living in or visiting Prince Edward County.

On October 8, as part of the County Council meeting, volunteers and staff members representing the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF) received an incredible $2,072,000 pledge installment from Mayor Steve Ferguson on behalf of the County of Prince Edward. This investment is the final installment of the municipality’s $4.5-million-dollar pledge to help Back the Build for a new hospital in Prince Edward County.

The 15th annual Picton Fair Bake Off Challenge united over 20 bakers and 40 bidders who demonstrated their community spirit, generosity, and commitment to Backing the Build for our new County hospital.

On Tuesday, October 1, PECMHF welcomes everyone to a free community celebration at Base31’s Drill Hall. The family-friendly event will begin at 4:00 p.m. and include music by Pushbroom Tycoons, face painting, and incredible food from the Base31 Commissary. Remarks, including a project update from the project planning team, will begin at 5:15 p.m.

On behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 160 Poppy Fund Committee, Peter Campbell and Mitch Smith presented Briar Boyce, senior development officer with the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF) with a gift of $2,000 on September 4. The funds were raised through the 2023 Poppy Fund campaign.

For the fifth year, the Metro store in Picton will launch a two-week fundraising initiative to help the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF) raise funds for the new hospital in Prince Edward County. From Thursday, August 22, until Wednesday, September 4, Metro will ask customers to donate $2 at the cash register to Back the Build.
