Giving back to the communities they are a part of has always been a priority to the team at IG Wealth Management.

As a caring community partner, the company’s goals include providing financial support to communities where its people live and work, and encourage and support its people in giving back to those communities.

Scott Lavender and Barbara Shuster, on behalf of IG Wealth Management have put that commitment into action by helping to Back the Build for a new hospital in Prince Edward County. IG Wealth Management was pleased to donate $2,000 to the new hospital campaign.

Lavender and Shuster, who both reside in Prince Edward County, are Certified Financial Planners (CFP) with IG Wealth Management. This past spring, they completed income tax returns for the residents of Wellington on the Lake in exchange for a donation to be directed towards the PECMHF’s Back the Build campaign.

Twelve residents from the Wellington on the Lake community took part. IG Wealth Management also supported this fundraiser through a matching gift incentive.

“This initiative from IG Wealth Management encouraged meaningful community involvement for the residents of Wellington on the Lake through Barbara and Scott’s efforts,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “Philanthropic teams such as IG Wealth Management play a significant role as they help to shape how health care will be delivered in our community for years to come. This gift will also help others to think of creative ways to Back the Build. We are extremely grateful and are excited to welcome IG Wealth Management into our donor family.”

IG Wealth Management prides itself on providing reliable and dedicated service to their clients so the decision to Back the Build was easy. Many of their staff and clients enjoy life in Prince Edward County and have had occasion to have to use the County hospital.

“Ensuring we have the best care for the members of our community and region on a 24/7 basis is important to IG Wealth Management,” said Scott Lavender, CFP with IG Wealth Management. “This is why we have made this gift towards the building of a new home for Quinte Health Care Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.”

“We felt this was an amazing turnout from the residents of Wellington on the Lake, considering COVID-19 restrictions,” said Barbara Shuster, CFP with IG Wealth Management. “It was inspiring to see that community come together in support of the new hospital.”

“We are excited to announce this gift for the new hospital. The support from IG Wealth Management will help ensure our new hospital will be built so those needing medical attention in our community will continue to receive the best care possible in a leading edge facility,” said Nancy Parks, Back the Build campaign co-chair.
